Currently reading...
I've just finished reading the whole Hunger Game trilogy by Susan Collins. And I kind of miss it already. It was so great to jump into that universe for hours on end and to turn pages excitedly to see what would happen next.
We also saw the movie the other day, and although most of the people we were with loved it, I was a little disappointed. I know you should keep your expectations at bay when you watch a film after reading the book, but for me there was just too much missing, too many little details that didn't match the ideas I had created in my head, and too many emotions and thoughts missing...
Some things were pretty spot on though: Gale and Rue, for example. I grew even fonder of them during the movie, and didn't think that was possible.

And I did enjoy the music a lot. We've been listening to the soundtrack quite a lot recently. I like this song most of all.

Rainy Sunday afternoon?

Rainy Sunday afternoon?
Yes... but... We turned it into a comfy movie time with lots of pillows and a great movie. Lovely!
And to top it all, I just realised today that the new season of Project Runway has started again. I totally missed the boat as this happened in July already but I'm more than happy to watch lots of episodes in one go to catch up.

Never Let Me Go

Saw this movie on Monday.
It was beautiful, quite strange, and sad... and it made me extremely thankful for the life I live and so terribly in love.
I would most definitely recommend it.
If you want to go and see it, please don't watch the trailer first - the whole story is in there and I think it would kind of ruin the freshness of it all. When we went we had pretty much no idea of what we were going to see; and it was just perfect that way!

Babies
:-)
This is one of the movies we watched. We all loved it and giggled all the way through! And forgot about our nausea and temperature for a bit.

Up and up

It's a 'real life' version of the fantastic flying house in the movie Up and it was used it for the promotion of the movie.
I find it so really adorable... and would just love to see it in real life!
Here is a peak at how it looks from close up:
The hot air balloon reminded me of this video, which I loved a few years ago:
And this video, in turn, made me remember this Sony commercial - so pretty!
(This version doesn't have the original soundtrack, but it was the one with the best quality on YouTube)
I need to research a 'making of' for this commercial - I wonder if they really dropped thousands and thousands of balls down the streets of San Francisco!

Fantastic Mr. Fox
We saw Fantastic Mr. Fox at the movies with friends last night - it was... fantastic!

The amount of work that went into this movie is incredible (see here and here to get an idea). The result however is light, flawless and terribly funny!

Campana brothers

This afternoon we went to see the Campana brothers exhibition which is currently on at the NAI Maastricht.
I had already seen the show at the Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein, in Germany, but was happy to see it again - the Campana brothers' work is really full of fun and surprises!
The song of the day comes from the movie we saw last night at the cinema: Nowhere Boy (which was a great film by the way, I highly recommended it).

Ikea, Pecking duck and Avatar

And the restaurant is great too. When you order duck they come and present it to you before they cut it and they have big aquariums with fish that you can order from the menu. It's a bit funny to see them come with a bucket and a net, but I guess that way you know it's the freshest it can be!
After dinner we rushed under torrential rain and went to see Avatar in 3D. It was wonderful!
P.S. How cool would it be if, when you'd put on the special glasses, you could see us in 3D in the bottom pictures! ;-)
