Blogging time

Everyone (or almost) has two days off over here in the South of the Netherlands; it's Carnival!
Even though it's an incredible celebration enjoyed by thousands of people dressed up in amazing costumes, it's not really my thing and so I'm super happy to just have some quiet time at home.
It's a beautifully sunny day, I have some music on (mostly this song on repeat actually, hehe), and I'm working on some guest blogging I'll tell you about in due time. I'm enjoying it so much I only just noticed that it was 3:11pm and that I still hadn't eaten anything for lunch... :-) Time for a piece of Sarah's orange cake which I made the other day!

She recently moved to Singapore and just opened a new online shop where she sells the most beautiful screen-printed paper goods. I couldn't resist ordering a few things (amongst which the fabulous feathers you can see above) and can't wait to see them all in real life soon.

Colossal stuff

I think I might have stayed stuck on this blog for almost two hours the other day. I couldn't believe how many incredible artists, videos, installations and works of art are featured on there... it's a real treasure chest!
To give you an idea, here are the three things I remember right now:

• a humongous and incredibly amazing toothpick sculpture
• an incredibly ingenious invention to save people across the world
• some adorable automatons (i'm in love with the duck one)
  

There is SO much more though... I'd definitely recommend you go and have a look for yourself!

Still here!

Hi everyone!

No, I haven't disappeared... I have suffered a pretty bad stomach flu over the past few days though, and just when I thought I felt better I got hit by one of those silly ophthalmic migraines I get a few times a year... I guess I hadn't reached my quota for 2010 and needed to squeeze in that last one before December 31st!

So, not a fun few days all in all, but it means I had a zero calorie Christmas meal (hehe), and plenty of TLC from all family members around, which is always so helpful...

Anyway, here is a little message for you guys.

I just discovered a new (?) function of google: when you search for images, you can choose a dominant colour for all of them.

I am seriously impressed.

In 'blogger in draft' I just saw the countries from which you guys have been checking my blog. Now, I knew I had an 'international audience' because of my loving family and friends scattered around the globe - it was no surprise to see Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, USA, Hong Kong or Canada on the list.

But I was not expecting one bit what was going to be on the rest of the list: Peru, Latvia, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, South Korea... Wow!
