Flying in the sky

Remember this day?
Well, Mart finally got to take his introductory flying lesson this weekend!
And I was sitting at the back of the tiny Cessna 172, feeling quite sick in the windy weather... :-)
It was great though! So cool to see the area we live in from the sky, and of course, for Mart, so wonderful to finally fly in the sky!

Blueberry pops

I tried making popsicles with blueberry juice this weekend. They weren't amazing to be honest, so we plopped them into our juice-maker (without the wooden sticks of course) and made fluffy orange-blueberry-ginger juice. That was much nicer! :-)

Zucchini blossoms

One one my colleagues brought be beautiful zucchini blossoms from his parents' garden today, and so Mart whisked together a beautiful lemon, ricotta and zucchini blossom rigatoni dinner... it was y - u - m ! We ate on our little terrasse, in the evening light, with a nice glass of white... now that's what I call Summer!

It finally feels like summer here in the Netherlands. The weather forecast doesn't look like it's going to stay that way for very long, so we're making the very best of it while we can!

And... it's my Daddy's birthday today! Joyeux anniversaire Papa!

Today we cycled across the border and visited this fort. It's an impressive place; so very big, quite scary, and full of history.
