Few days away

We are leaving for Margaret River for a few days... I have so many photos I would like to show you but (until a few minutes ago) no Internet to do so!
No time to do it now, but I will as soon as we get back!

Everything is still amazingly good out here; we love it!

Down under

We currently don't have internet at home yet, and it will probably take a little longer until we do...

But we've had plenty of things to do to keep us busy, such as going to the beach, enjoying the magnificent weather and warm temperatures, staring at the amazing daily sunsets, and most of all, spending lots of time with Mart's family.
Needless to say we are having a fantastic time!

Will be back soon with photos to prove it.

I wish...

For some reason I've felt quite emotional today... it's one of these days when I wish I had a teleporting machine to go to different corners of the world and be with people I miss.

I also wish I could pack these in my bag...

Tomorrow we'll be slow-motion teleporting to another season...

Tartans

Mum sent me this link this afternoon, and I played around to make tartans to match some old photos... quite useless, but fun nevertheless!

Fresh blues and greens

My dear friend Claire has been making wonderful garlands and mobiles for a while already, and they have definitely inspired me to make this blue and green one.

This time last year...

This time last year we were in Rome for a few days. What I loved most was the view from the top of St. Peter's, the tiramisu at Chicco di Grano, the whispering at the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the breathtaking views at every street corner.

Papercraft

I looked at the beautiful papercraft book that I received for Christmas while having a cup of tea this afternoon and fell in love with these adorable placemats by Lian Ng for Publique Living.

Also, I'm totally amazed by the finesse of these decoupages by Bovey Lee.

Lazy breakfast

Today was our first lazy breakfast since we came back from Switzerland... On this photo you can spot yummy Gruyere brought back from home, and one of our new placemats.

And, to make the morning extra lazy, we have been listening to this.

Paper pâquerettes

Here is, as promised, my daisy garland.
It's snowing and snowing outside - so pretty!

Pâquerettes

Tonight I made a very cute garland with paper daisies but the light is really too bad to take photos. You will therefore have to wait until the weekend to see it! In the meanwhile, here is a shot taken on my birthday, in April, in Switzerland.

Little lights

After seeing Patricia Zapata's big and colourful bowls in her book, I decided to make little candle holders in the same fashion.
They cast really pretty shadows when they are lit.

Best wishes

Apparently some of the cards we sent this year never arrived to their destination... what a disappointment! I really don't get how letters can just get lost nowadays, but I guess the heavy snowfalls around the time I posted them didn't help.

So... for those of you who didn't get theirs, here is a quick glimpse of what I had made!

Travelling back

Today was time to come back to Maastricht after a beautiful two weeks in Switzerland...
The trip went smoothly, even if we spent a few hours waiting for our plane to leave Geneva. We kept ourselves busy skyping with Mad in Australia, eating delicacies baked by Esther and taking photos.

Here are a few wintery shots of the trip.

2010!

This is most probably the cheesiest way of wishing you all the very best for the new year, but I love the bits of this song when they sing 'happy new year' in a high pitched voice... so:

Photo taken in the church in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) yesterday.
