Autumn is coming

The wind makes golden leaves dance off the trees by my window, it's almost chilly enough to wear gloves when cycling in the early morning and i feel like lighting candles as soon as I get home... autumn is on its way!

Drenched goldfish

Remember how I said I like clever ads?

Well, here's another one.

This one is really cool too. And this one, even if it's a big yucky, is pretty clever too.

Catwalk night

I took part in a fun fashion show evening at my old work the other day. Almost all of us who walked down the catwalk had never done anything like it before, but we had an absolute blast!

Spotted tealight cup

Here's what I was working on yesterday. Same technique as for these, but this time with little rounds of paper.

Am trying something new... Not sure if it's going to work, but we'll see!

Planes and little flowers

We had such a lovely summery day here today... it was beautiful!

They've forecast pretty bad weather for the rest of the week though, and it started a few hours ago already. Rain, more rain and even some lightning - woohoo.
These photos are from a year ago. I should get more little flowers like that. I like them.

Bright stuff again

I think I like bright stuff.

Here are the candles we have at the moment.

Have been crazy busy over here lately. Happy busy though, so that's good!

Clever one

First of all, for those of you who are not used to Swiss money, please click here to see what our bills look like. If you can, try and remember the order of the colours as amounts go up (10 francs is yellow, 20 is pink, etc.).

Done?

Ok. So, now that everyone has acquired the highly regarded skill of recognising Swiss bank notes, please enjoy the following video (which, as you might have guessed from the title of this post, I find very clever). It's for a Swiss bank. Don't worry about not understanding the text at the end (if you indeed don't) - just look at the pictures.

Nice take on how your money might evolve with this bank, isn't it?

I love clever, funny and / or beautiful ads. If you have ones you'd like to share, please do!

Oh, and almost every time I see a complicated piece of origami, I wonder how they come up with the folding pattern to make it... well, here is the answer in a long but fascinating video.

Happy birthday Joanna!

It's my dear Joanna's birthday today. I got her a present from my new favourite shop.

Warm, thick wool

It's crazy how quickly and fundamentally the weather can change: yesterday it was summer. The sun was shining, it was warm, and we spent the afternoon outdoors, lying in the sun. Today however is definitely autumn. The weather switched drastically overnight, and we've seen pretty much nothing but rain, dark clouds and icy winds.
This type of weather really makes me long for warm, cosy knitted stuff. Just like these.

No more burning fingers

We have delicious coffee at my new work. But the cups are too thin to carry them back to the office without burning your fingers.

Here is the solution I came up with this afternoon. Hopefully there will be no more burning fingers!

Outside

The flowers have grown beautifully.

And Mart took a photo of the moon the other night when I was already asleep. He said it didn't work, but I quite like the outcome!

Fancy animals

Thanks to a friend on facebook, I just discovered the wonderful world of berkleyillustrations' fancily dressed animals. I find them so sweet and so special at the same time. They remind me a bit of the characters in this movie, don't you think?
You should definitely go and check their etsy page, you'll discover quirky details about each and every single one of them.

All pictures from here.

Butterflies

Clock-wise:
(1) Send a gnome home, by sayohappyday
(2 and 4) Butterfly brooches, by fairycreations
(3) Blue African Charaxes butterfly collection, at realbutterflygifts

I don't think I could ever own real butterflies pinned in a box, even if I find them extremely pretty. I'd much rather go for one of fairycreations' beautiful brooches instead. Aren't they just precious?
