Istanbul | day 4

On our fourth day in Istanbul we took a ferry to another part of town and decided to walk to the Chora Church. We walked along the old Byzantine wall that used to protect the city and we passed through some amazing neighbourhoods. Some of the houses weren't in great shape (at all) but they were so beautiful - they were covered in thousands of tiny colourful tiles... I couldn't stop myself from taking dozens of photos!

When we got to the Chora Museum we found out that part of it was under renovation but what we saw was very impressive. From there we got slightly lost in public transportation (but were helped by very friendly locals) and eventually made our way to the Basilica Cistern and the Blue Mosque.

Istanbul | day 2

The day after the party, after a bit of a sleep in (and with *hum* a slight hangover) we headed back to the ferry terminal where we hopped with many of the other guests from the night before on a Bosphorus cruise. The sun kept playing hide and seek with the clouds, there was a cool breeze, we got hot tea and savoury little cakes... it was the perfect, lazy way to recuperate in style.

Istanbul | the wedding

I had never imagined I would ever attend such an amazingly international wedding; there were countless nationalities, beautiful customs, and many wonderfully colourful outfits - it was stunning.
I was lucky to be asked by our friends to be the one to photograph their special day and so I got to take it all in even better than anyone else. Here are a few shots from this beautiful, happy, loving day (and a couple from the evening before, when we had a henna session) so that you can feast your eyes too. Enjoy! :-)
