In Switzerland we celebrate Saint Nicolas on December 6th, one day after the Dutch do their Sinterklaas. It's way more low-key than here, but it's still a special day, especially for children, who get excited to see Saint Nicolas and his donkey coming to villages to give out mandarines, peanuts and little chocolates.
On December 6th Swiss children also make 'Gritibaenz', or 'Bonshommes de pate'. And so did we - we had them for brunch today.

if only it was Dec 6th every Sunday. There's nothing like a "bonne homme" for breakfast..even if it does look like a bear!
