Such a wonderful weekend with friends

We spent the loveliest of weekends with our friends who were visiting from Denmark last week. It's so special to have people in your life whom you can't see that often but who stay so close in your heart... we did a whole lot of catching up, lulling in the park, making loom bracelets, dancing and singing to the soundtrack of Frozen, and eating good food... it felt like a holiday!

Hug

I had a pretty tough day. But it was all okay because I knew my favourite geek in the whole world (pictured here tracking planes with our iPad ♥) would hug me the second I came home and I would feel a thousand times better.

And I was right.

These pretty little things have started blooming and smell delicious!

New little corner

The living room felt a little dark after we took the christmas 'tree' down and so I decided to keep some of the fairy lights in a vase. I propped them together with the origami ball (I've taken the lights out since the other day; I was a bit frightened of the potential fire hazard) on the pretty stool we bought the other day.
The little pompons date from then. I can't get myself to throw them away just yet.

Remembering Paris

We went to a second hand shop on Saturday and got this big puzzle with a picture of Paris. We're making it, remembering our special weekend there last year...
It's not exactly Mart's favourite thing in the world (the puzzling part, not the thinking-of-last-year part!) but he's been a good sport and has come to sit with me for a bit every time I get to it.

7 years today

Today we celebrated 7 years of love with a cozy brunch at home.
I can't believe it's one year already since our magical weekend in Paris. Time flies!

Another quiet weekend

Sore throats, sleep-ins, a bit of shopping, some super duper bathroom cleaning, a lovely dinner out, some old shows of Louis Theroux, lit candles, a delicious saffron risotto... that's our weekend in a few words.

A golden ring

We received beautiful news from Australia today. News with a sparkly golden ring. And very big smiles all around...

To celebrate the wonderful announcement, and because I had wanted to do something like this since seeing these, I made this golden ring glass today.

For a few days already, our living room has been brightened up by a huge bouquet of sunflowers we received from our friend Teresa. They are so bright and happy; I love them!

Yes... but... We turned it into a comfy movie time with lots of pillows and a great movie. Lovely!

And to top it all, I just realised today that the new season of Project Runway has started again. I totally missed the boat as this happened in July already but I'm more than happy to watch lots of episodes in one go to catch up.

Now

I want sun.
I want heat.
I want summer.
Now.

No more rain.
No more wearing winter clothes in August.

And maybe a beach. Yeah, i want a beach too. Now.

Choc chip cookies

After a few too many games of this (warning: highly addictive stuff in sight), we were seriously craving chocolate chips cookies. I found an old recipe I got straight from the States years ago (Anne, maybe it was yours? I can't remember...). Anyway, they are de-li-ci-ous, and we have been enjoying them tremendously!

Coconut & lime yogurt popsicles

I've been looking at products like this one for a few weeks already, thinking it would be so much fun to have in the summer... but then reason gets the better of me and I end up not buying anything because a) our freezer is about the size of a matchbox, b) summer over here only lasts for a few days it seems (or at least this year it hasn't really appeared yet) and c) am I really going to spend 50 euro on a machine to make a few ice blocks every now and then? (I just saw that you can get them for slightly cheaper online, but still...).

Anyway. The other day we saw a few rays of sun, and I got the urge to make little ice creams... and so I did with what I had on hand at home. The adorable little dishes I received for my birthday a few years ago turned out to be the perfect shape, and I just stuck mini spoons in there to make the sticks. A bit of the delicious coconut & lime yogurt in there, a few hours in the freezer, and that was it!

When we saw these pillow covers in a shop in Stockholm, they immediately reminded me of a sleeping bag my parents had made me when I was a little kid... the fabric had the same feel, with a light blue background, clouds and trees... And when I shared this with Mart, he said he had pillow slips pretty much exactly the same when he was little!

We just had to buy them to sleep on these soft blue landscapes again... ah, memories...
