Little treat
Some simple chocolate-covered-nuts packaged in pretty animal jars (like these) made a perfect little present for our friends who invited us for dinner the other night.

April flew by.
It's the 26th already. Wowza!
I have the feeling months have been flying by lately. Maybe I'm getting old?

Along the way
We stopped in Leuven on our way to the greenhouses the other day. We only had a short time in between trains, but it was just long enough to walk to the city center and see some pretty buildings.

Currently reading...
I've just finished reading the whole Hunger Game trilogy by Susan Collins. And I kind of miss it already. It was so great to jump into that universe for hours on end and to turn pages excitedly to see what would happen next.
We also saw the movie the other day, and although most of the people we were with loved it, I was a little disappointed. I know you should keep your expectations at bay when you watch a film after reading the book, but for me there was just too much missing, too many little details that didn't match the ideas I had created in my head, and too many emotions and thoughts missing...
Some things were pretty spot on though: Gale and Rue, for example. I grew even fonder of them during the movie, and didn't think that was possible.
And I did enjoy the music a lot. We've been listening to the soundtrack quite a lot recently. I like this song most of all.

The Royal Greenhouses
On Thursday we surprised my mum who was coming to visit us for the weekend by picking her up at the airport and taking her to the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, together with my childhood friend Morgane who now lives in Brussels.
The flowers were beautiful and the whole place absolutely breathtaking. The greenhouses are only opened to the public for a few weeks every Spring, and so we were really happy to be part of the lucky few who got to see them this year!
More photos tomorrow.

London - Canary Wharf
We stayed in Canary Wharf with some of Mart's childhood friends from home. It was great to discover a new part of the city we hadn't been in much. And it really felt like we were somewhere completely foreign. The view from our balcony made me feel like we could be in Hong Kong or another big city with an impressive skyline and water around it.

London - drinks & brain activity
1. Cider. Yum.
2. Brain Activity. An exhibition of David Shrigley's art. He's Mart's favourite artist and is pretty hilarious (or not, depending on people). :-)
3. And bubble tea (we chose the milky Japanese green tea one and were so right to do so; it was de-li-cious!).

Another paint sample idea
I've been collecting paint samples from our local hardware store for years, mostly to make garlands, but also just to have pretty colours at hand whenever I feel creative. I have seen countless crafty projects and tutorials using them on blogs and websites (see a good collection of them here), but I had never seen this (see below) until cycling home from work yesterday afternoon.
Isn't it just wonderful? And you should have seen it when the girl was cycling - it looked so pretty and happy!

Paint sample triangles
I gave a go at this very easy and fun diy with paint samples. The final product is now on its way to a little girl who turns 5 today... how time flies, it's amazing!

London - the V&A museum
We spent a few hours exploring the V&A museum on our first day in London. I thought it had an Italian feel to it. Don't you think?
Well the phone booth in the last picture does kind of give the location away, I'll admit that.

Bright triangles
Hi again everyone!
It's been a little quiet over here lately; sorry... I've kind of been feeling like there are never enough hours in a day (I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean) and so I haven't been at the computer half as much as I usually am.
But it's been good busy though, don't get me wrong! We've been on a lovely long weekend in London last week, and I have lots of photos to show you.

But before I do so, I wanted to send you over to this guest post, which I wrote for Fellow Fellow a little while ago. It was so much fun putting it together; these bright triangles really do put me in a happy mood.
And during the weekend we happened upon a DavidDavid boutique. It was my first encounter with this London-based fashion designer, and I was in complete awe. As you can see, it fits with the theme perfectly!
